The manuscript is a transcript of Gottrupsbók, a now lost copy of Bæjarbók á Rauðasandi (AM 73 b fol.). The false chapter CCXV is adopted without any comments. But the last two folios, added in another hand, contain a duplicated transcript of this suspicious chapter. Thise leaves furthermore inform that, according to a message of Rev Eyjólfur Jónsson in 1721, this chapter was written on a paper-leaves in the vellum book, that served as original for the transcript Eyólfur made for lögmaður Lauritz Gottrup (Gottrupsbók).
