Written in the Faroe Islands in the nineteenth century.
The manuscript materials were part of V. U. Hammershaimb's private archive and were originally intended for Det kgl. nordiske Oldskriftselskab. They were given to the Arnamagnæan Collection following Hammershaimb's death in 1909.

The paper is fragile and in very poor condition. The bottom of the second leaf (85 mm) is fully dislocated from the remainder of the leaf, having town at the fold.
A yellow slip contains the following information written in pencil: „Her må lige efter Overskrift mangler forklares, at de med * forsynede vers er tilskrevne i randen og at deres plads derfor ikke med fuld sikkerhed kan angives.“ In red pencil is written „Til Ríki Álvur.“
