The manuscript is defective towards the end and has two lacunae; 1rbis is torn.

1 bis r. St. Andrew, crucified on a Greek cross, surrounded by four praying worshippers. The frame of the miniature is red and green and the cross forms two diagonals exceeding the edge of the picture. The halo of St. Andrew is pearl-studded and his hands and feet are tied to the cross with rope. In the open space between his legs is written: Ora pro nobis beate andrea |vt digni efficiamur christi

The initials are red and green.

The manuscript is written in Iceland the third quarter of the fourteenth century ( Louis-Jensen, 19778, 14). Kålund's dating: the first half of the fourteenth century ( Katalog ).

An AM-slip has been inserted on the pastedown. The text: Andreas postula Saga 4to. Vantar aptanvid. Komin til min fra Jone Einars syne 1695. enn til hans ur eign Þorsteins Benedickt sonar i Bolstadarhlid. Er eigi su sama sem finnzt in Codice Vigrensi Before the manuscript came into Árni Magnússon's possession, it belonged to Jón Einarsson, who in his turn had had it from Þorsteinn Benediktsson of Bólstaðarhlíd († 1697). Besides the owners mentioned above, two names: Símon Pálsson and Árni Þórarinsson occur on the fly-leaf (fol. 1r) presumably from the fifteenth century. As these two names occur in a deed drawn up in 1493 at Sjávarborg in Skagafjarðarsýsla ( Diplomatarium Islandicum, VII, no 253) it seems likely that the manuscript was in Skagafjörður at that time.

According to the AM-slip Árni Magnússon acquired AM 646 4to in 1695.
