Note

The text is almost illegible f. 41v

Physical Description

Support

Parchment.

No. of leaves
41. 255 mm x 180 mm
Layout

The manuscript is written in long lines. The number of lines per page vary from 43 to 54.

Condition

The manuscript is fragmentary and defective. On fol. 41 the writing is so worn that reading is almost impossible. Fol. 3r, especially near the margins, and 35r, are hardly legible due to wear, and the first lines of fol. 2r are partly illegible. The upper corner of fol. 1 is torn out and therefore some text is missing; a hole on fol 9 has also caused a loss of some letters on each side. Tears occur on fols 13, 15, 19, 22, 23, 24 and 38; none of these have caused a loss of text, whereas the tear on fol. 41 has effaced some letters in the middle of the leaf. The margins of fol. 24 are excised.

Script

The first hand wrote fols 1-30 and 35-41. This hand is the most practised and has the most consistent orthography.

A second hand wrote fol. 31-34

A third, unskilled, hand has written the first 6 lines on fol. 19v.
