Fysisk Beskrivelse / Kodikologi
Paper and parchment. Paper manuscript except for the fly-leaves which are of parchment. These leaves are partly blank (fols 1bis and 194v), partly carrying a few inscriptions.
The manuscript is foliated in the top right-hand corners.
The manuscript is written in one column throughout. There are running titles and chapter numbers in red, mostly at the beginning of the manuscript. Occasionally space has been left empty for initials and rubrics. A number of folia have been excised after fol. 193.
Marginalia occur, but, especially on fol. 3v, are damaged due to trimming.
Bound in a reddish brown leather binding with clasps.
Historie og herkomst
The manuscript was written in Denmark in the last quarter of the fifteenth century.
The manuscript contains following information serving as evidence for the history and ownership of the manuscript: On the pastedown and on fol. 145r the name Christopher Nielssen and the date 1632 occur, and earlier in the sixteenth century, according to the names written on fol. 1, the manuscript was owned by Lisbet Nils datter and Margrete Billes datter. Fol. 1 also contains the arms of the noble families Bille and Limbeck. On the pastedown and fly-leaf the arm of the Arnfeld family and following inscription from the sixteenth century: mechel nielsens bogh | af helsinge Jep olssen are found.
