The manuscript is foliated in the top right-hand corners.

Layout

The text is written in single columns with 23 to 36 lines per page. There are red initials and ornamentation. The rubrics and running titles, which mostly consist of a single number or letter, seem to be later addtions.

Script

The main part of the manuscript is written in the fifteenth century.

Fols 228v-229v are written in younger hands.

Fols 230r-231v are written in the sixteenth century.

Additions

There are older and younger marginalia, partially damaged due to trimming.

Binding

The manuscript is bound in a brown stamped leather-binding.

History

Origin

This manuscript was written in Denmark in 1470.

Provenance

Fol. 228r has a note written in a younger hand: Aar effter gutz byrdh mo cdo lxx tha lodh herloff nielssøn som | kallez skave j eskelstrup scrive thenne bogh On the front cover of the binding the name HARLUFF SKAFFVE and the date 1570 is written in Gothic fracture lettering. On fol. 1v the name Klaus Podbusk, a book marker and the date 1590 are written.

Acquisition

According to a note in Árni Magnússon's hand, the manuscript (No. 383) was purchased at Frederik Rostgaard's auction in 1726.
