Written in double columns with 57-58 lines per page. Fols 1a and 139 are flyleaves.

Rubrics in red and initials in more than one colour.

The bottom margins of several leaves have been cut off but otherwise the manuscript is well preserved.

• Fol. 9v:27-38: Yellow initial S in 11 lines, inside a green frame with red dots, resembling Noah's ark. At the top curve of the S Noah in a red coat is building his ark with his bare hands. At the bottom curve of the S a woman in a white wimple with an angry face wagging her finger at two men, of whom one of them is slapping the other one’s face. All four people in the initials look unhappy. The extender represents a simple branch ending in a leaf at the top.
• Fol. 23ra:26-36: Light yellow initial N in 10 lines depicting a praying and kneeling Rebecca in front of an altar, on which a head of a sheep is placed. She is receiving an answer from God who is holding his right hand with extended index and middle finger (the gesture of benediction) over her head. Dark red frame with white dots. Both the initial and the extender have foliage and the descender ends in a dark red frame with a drollery creature without any head inside it.
• Fol. 49ra:42-50:

Fol. 1b, the prologue is a later insertion.

Two marginal notes on the previous owners of the codex are found on fols 95r abd 107r, respectively: Hieꝛ gaꝻ oꝛmur wpp wid at lesa | gud lene þier Ꝼiꝛi ſkemtunena oꝛmur | minn godur oc ſæll ſeiger biarne | kalꝻſſon og þetta er Ꝼin bok teítuꝛ aa mig ſeiger | bokin

Fol. 139r has a drawing of a ship from the seventeenth century.

In AM 435 a 4to, ff. 3v-6r, Árni Magnússon wrote about this manuscript: Hiſtoria Biblia vulgo Stiorn, deſinit qvemadmodum liber 4tus Regum. Þeſſa bok hefi eg feinged af Ara Þorkelsſyne anno 1697. hann af Eggert Sæmundzſyne i Midhlid (fdur Þorleifs Magnuſſſonar i Haga) til gefins ſegia ſumir, eu adrer ſeiga (ſem og sannara mun vera) ad hann hafe keypt hana af Magnuſe firi 5. hundrud i lauſafe. Magnuſe hafde bokina gefed Ormur Jonsſon i fremra (?) Gufudal circa vel ante ann. 1612..

To this content a slip has been added: Þeſsa bök ä med riettu yngre Magnus Jönſſon, og var honum gefin med óllum virtum af Ormi Jonſſyni ad fremra (?) Gufudal etc. Pſalmo XXXVII. Þeir munnu eckj ſem gud öttaſt verda til skammar. Anno 1612. Þetta ſtod aptan ä Saurbladinu. There is no trace of this note.
