Written in Iceland c. 1700.

Assuming that Jón Ólafsson is right about the identification of the scribe, this codex is mentioned on f. 140v in AM 435 a 4to. Here Árni Magnússon wrote about a vellum manuscript containing Karlamagnús saga, copied by Jon Arnórsson. This manuscript perished during the Copenhagen fire of 1728 together with at least two other vellum manuscripts containing the same saga: Karla Magnuss saga. Folio innbundenn med einum spenle. hefur fyrrum fylgt Skalholltz kirkiu (þad er su sem Jon Arnorsson skrifade epter). non admodum vetustus Codex.

From an inventory f. 153 ibid. it appears that this manuscript was among the Icelandic codices in the inventory of Skálholltz stadar afhendingu til Mag. Þordar Thorlakssonar 1674 .

Acquisition

According to AM 435 a 4to fols 186 ff., Árni Magnússon obtained the codex in 1699, the codex is here designated as Karla Magnuss saga sem Jön Arnorsson minna vegna uppskrifade.
