BD standard binding with cloth spine and corners together with a cloth cover from 1981. Kålund's commments from a previous binding was cut out of the old first flyleaf and glued to the upper board. Size of binding: 215 mm x 185 mm x 13 mm

The leaves were originally loose but were gathered and bound in Kålund’s time (the 1880es). It was a half-binding with cloth spine and corners; the boards are covered in glossy combed marble paper. Kålund noted the date 10. júní 1885 on the front flyleaf. It is unknown whether this binding still exists.
