The manuscript is written in two columns with 30 lines per column.

Condition

Fols 1 and 2 are both worn and full of holes; only the lower half of f. 3 is preserved.

Decoration

Rubrics in red. The initials are red, some of them are flourished with blue ink.

Binding

The manuscript is half-bound in parchment and the boards are covered in comb marbeled paper.

Accompanying Material

There is an AM-slip pasted to fol. 2 which says: Feingid 1710. af Jone Hannessyne i Reykiarfirde , utanum qver. og hafdi qvered ätt Han n es Gun n laugsson . Kynni & blỏden þesse leingur utanum qvered vered hafa, þvi sumt i qverenu var nærri 100. ara gamallt.

History

Origin

The manuscript is written in Iceland in the first quarter of the fourteenth century (Stefán Karlsson 196759). Kålund's dating: the fourteenth century.

Provenance

The owners of the manuscript Árni Magnússon mentions are: Hannes Gunnlaugsson and Jón Hannesson of Reykjarfjorður.

Acquisition

Árni Magnússon acquired the mansucript in 1710 from Jón Hannesson of Reykjarfjörður .
