Foliation
Foliated 1-24 in red ink by Kristian Kålund (almost erased by wet processing in 1980). Newer foliation with pencil.
Collation
The manuscript consists of three gatherings.
Layout

The manuscript is written in long lines with 21 to 46 lines per page. 33 to 39 lines is, however, most prevailing; the last three pages are the pages with over 40 lines per page.

All pages, except from the very last, of course, have catchwords.

Condition
Very good condition.
Script

Presumably written by Páll Sveinsson. The script is clear and easy to read.

Binding

When Kålund was writing his catalogue in the late 19th century, the manuscript was bound in a parchment binding with text from a French Biblia latina from c. 1300, now Acc. 7e, Hs 122; fols 7, 10, 26, 35, 37 and 39.

The parchment was removed in 1911 and replaced with a marbeled paper binding. The parchment spine was preserved. Kålund noted the date August 08, 1911 on the front fly-sheet.

Existing binding: modern standard half-binding. Kålund's notes are cut out and glued to the new front fly-sheet. Dimensions: 311 mm x 235 mm x 14 mm

There is an AM-slip stuck in front of the manuscript. It reads: Fra Sal. Assessor Thormod Toruesens Enke 1720

History

Origin
Written in Norway in the seventeenth century.
Provenance
The only known owner of the manuscript is Torfæus.
Acquisition
AM 10 fol is one of the manuscripts which passed to Árni Magnússon after the death of Torfæus. According to the AM-slip he got the manuscript from Torfæus' widow in 1720
