Fragments of private letters from c. 1800 are used as material for the pastedown and for the fly-leaves I-IV, at the beginning and the ending of the codex, respectively. The letters are partly written in Icelandic, partly in a Danish-Icelandic mixed language.
Written in Iceland in the second half of the eighteenth century.
According to a note on IIv Rasmus Rask bought the codex from Þorvaldur Böðvarsson 17. september 1811: Þessi Bók er mér underskrifudum med verdi keypt. Holti þann 17. Augusti 1811. Th. Bödvarsson.
