The manuscript was written in Denmark by Frederik Julius Schaldemose. It was presented to the Nykøbing Katedralskole in 1816 by Frederik Schaldemose, so it cannot postdate this year.
Jeffrey Love in fasnl.ku.dk catalogue suggests that the manuscript was probably written some time around 1816-1817, which is based on the dates given in other manuscripts of the same collection (e.g. Acc. 52 and Acc. 57).
The manuscripts Acc. 51-62 belong to the collection of manuscripts Frederik Schaldemose bequeathed to Nykøbing Katedralskole. Most of them are Fredrik Schaldemose's transcriptions of Old Norse texts.
The Arnamagnæan Collection in Copenhagen acquired the manuscript from the school in April 2007 as a gift.
