The manuscript was written in Denmark by Frederik Julius Schaldemose. It was probably a part of the collection of manuscripts presented to Nykøbing Katedralskole in 1818 by Frederik Julius Schaldemose, so it cannot postdate this year.
The manuscripts Acc. 51-62 belong to the collection of manuscripts Frederik Schaldemose bequeathed to Nykøbing Katedralskole. Most of them are Fredrik Schaldemose's transcriptions of Old Norse texts.
The Arnamagnæan Collection in Copenhagen acquired the manuscript from the school in April 2007 as a gift.
