The manuscript was written in Denmark by Frederik Julius Schaldemose in 1816, as the notes on the title pages (f. 2r and f. 33r) suggest.
The manuscripts Acc. 51-62 belong to the collection of manuscripts Frederik Schaldemose bequeathed to Nykøbing Katedralskole. Most of them are Fredrik Schaldemose's transcriptions of Old Norse texts.
The Arnamagnæan Collection in Copenhagen acquired the manuscript from the school in April 2007 as a gift.
