The manuscript is in good condition.
The title page (f. 1r) is written in different hand than the rest of the manuscript (ff. 2r-501v), most likely that of Magnús Jónsson'.
The texts on ff. 2r-251r are written by Guðbrandur Sturlaugsson.
The manuscript is not decorated.
On the title page (f. 1r) an addition in pencil, probably in Jón Helgason's hand reads: Guðbrandur Sturlaugsson í Hvítadal. There is also a stamp: G Sturlaugsson.
On f. 251v a long commentary dated to 2. maí 1886 and concerning Þiðreks saga is found. It is written in the main scribe's hand. The commentary starts with the words: Sagan af Þidrik kóngi af Bern er [storfeinglig] riddara saga .
Half-binding from the 19th cent. Boards covered with marbled paper (brown and orange); dark brown leather spine and corners. Blue paper used for pastedown and flyleaves.
Five panels on the spine, separated by gilt, embossed geometric motifs. In one of the panels the gilt, embossed title: Saga af | Þidrik af Bern. is found.
The manuscript was written Iceland between 1876 and 1886.
Previously in the possession of Steinunn Árnadóttir Leegaard (1880–1958) from Dalir in Western Iceland.
According to Agnethe Loth (unpublished catalogue of Accessoria collection from 1968), The Arnamagnæan Collection in Copenhagen bought this manuscript together with Acc. 41 in október 1958 from the dentist Edvard Leegaard. Leegaard was married to Steinunn Árnadóttir Leegaard (1880–1958) from Dalir in Western Iceland.
