Ástand

The leaves are relatively dark.

There are many modern repairs with Japanese tissue (from 1981), especially at the corners and close to the spine.

Some leaves are slightly damaged in the bottom right-hand corner.

There are a few stains.

Skrifarar og skrift

Written by Eggert Jónsson from Akrar.

Skreytingar

The initials are larger than the main text (2-4 lines). Many initials show additional decoration; e.g. the letter "Þ" on fol. 25r which has a drawn face inside the bow.

The catchwords are decorated with a zigzag-line.

Spássíugreinar og aðrar viðbætur

The scribe made additions in the margins.

In the top margin of fol. 1r, a later hand added the word Hier.

Band

The current binding is a modern half binding made by Birgitte Dall in 1983. Included in the box of the manuscript is the former binding, a half- binding where the boards are covered in blue marbled paper. This binding was produced in Kristian Kålund's time (ca. 1911-1913) . Before that, the boards were covered by reused parchment leaves from a Latin Psalter, which were removed by Kålund. The leaves are now transferred to AM Access. 7 d (Hs 107).

Fylgigögn

An AM-slip (128 mm x 76 mm) is pasted to the front of the manuscript. On this, Árni Magnússon wrote: Hirdskrä med hendi Eggerts, gamla, ä ỏkrum. ur bok er eg fieck frä Skapta Josefs syne
