The text is written in one column; the lines per page variy.

The written area takes up approximately 120-140 mm x 80 mm.

In the part of the codex which is made of paper, spaces have been left empty for chapter initials.

The first scribe wrote ff. 1r-146v:6.

Different hands are responsible for the additions on ff. 146r:7-147v.

A second scribe wrote ff. 148r-150v.

A third scribe wrote ff. 151r-168r in Nykøbing.

A fourth hand wrote ff. 168v-170r.

A fifth hand wrote f. 170v.

A sixth hand write ff. 171r-193v.

A last hand wrote ff. 194r-200v.

The partchment part has initials and rubrics in red ink.

In the paper part blank spaces have been left empty for for rubrics and initials.

In the paper part, section numbers are supplied in pencil in the margins by a later hand.

In the margins of ff. 46r and 73r drawings of maniculae in dark and red ink, respectively, can be seen.

Occasional marginal notes, e.g. on 140v (in red ink), 142r and 145v

On f. 147r:6-13 a note by a Peder Skriver, who borrowed the mansucript from Oluf Gregersen reads: Thenne Bog Lannte ieg aff Oluff gregerßenn Som fød er y Lomburg Sogenn vtj hiegaardth Anno xpmd Lxxiij Peder Skriiffuer Manu Propria. A similar note, written sideways is found on the upper pastedown: Denne bog er mig Lant aff Oluff gregersenn 1574 Peder Schriiffuer. In the same place the name Peder Skriver is written twice (upside down).

On f. 147v:14 a later addition (from the the eighteenth century?) reads in red ink: Skitinn Codex.

F. 147v:15-20 has an provenance note reading: „Denne Bogg hør migh Peder Hannßenn Tiill mett retthe fordy maa der ingen mett migg tretthe. Anno domini Septtember Aar 1569“

At the top of the upper pastedown, a title in dark ink is found: „Siællands Low over Móen Falster og Lolland item Kong Eric Christofferssóns Low“.

On the lower pastedown two notes written by disctinct hands are found; the first contains a praise for a scribe called Olav: Olaff scriffuer er en god swen som per vnghe vedh; the second is a provenance note from : denne bog hórre mig Olluff greießenn Tiill mett Retthe fordy maa der ingen mett mig tretthe om then Bogh med Retthe 1.5.7.0.

The manuscript was written in Denmark. The text was written over several decades. The texts on the original parchment part were written in the second half of the fifteenth century, while the younger texts in the paper part date to the first half of the sixteenth century, giving the manuscript an overall dating of c. 1450-1550

Peder Hanssen owned the manuscript in 1569 (f. 147v) and Oluf Gregersen states himself as the owner of the manuscript in 1570. According to the note on 147r he was born y Lomburg Sogenn vtj hiegaarth. Peder Skriver borrowed the book from Oluf in 1573 and 1574 (according to the notes on f. 147r and the upper pastedown).
