  • II: fols. 9-16 (9+16, 10+15, 11+14, 12+13)

There are no quire signatures. There are catchwords on all verso-pages except for fol. 22v.
Ástand

The leaves are relatively clean, except for the first and the last page, which are stained.

The edges are not trimmed and are darker than the rest of the leaves.

Some bifolia were repaired close to the spine using Japanese paper.

Umbrot

  • The text is written in one column with 26-28 lines per page and 10-12 words per line.
  • The written area measures ca. 195 mm x 150 mm.

Skrifarar og skrift
Skreytingar

The first initial was written considerably larger than the rest of the text (4 lines) and is decorated with additional strokes. Other initials span 1-2 lines and are emphasised by means of additional loops and curls.

The catchwords are decorated with squiggles. Similar decoration is found on the opposite side (in the outer bottom corner of the recto-pages), even though there is no catchword.

Spássíugreinar og aðrar viðbætur

After the text was written, some parts were underlined and marked with "NB" in the margins. Based on the ink used, this could at least in part be done by the scribe himself.

Band

The current binding is a modern half binding with fabric on the boards. It was made in 1982 under Birgitte Dall.

An older binding is included in the same box. It is a half binding with white parchment on the spine and brown marbled paper on the boards. Previously, there were reused parchment leaves of a antiphonary on the boards, but they were taken off under Kålund (1911-1913), and are now stored in AM Access. 7 b (Hs 61).

Uppruni og ferill

Uppruni

The manuscript was written in Iceland. Kålund dates it to ca. 1700 Katalog I, s. 583.

Ferill

According to his own statement, Árni Magnússon received the larger manuscript, of which this was a part, from Torfæus who had obtained the parts from Árni (see Kålund: Arne Magnusson i AM. 435 a-b, 4°).
