Only fols 3 and 5 are all full size leaves the others have lost more or less of the margins. Several leaves are badly worn or have holes and tears.
Written by a practiced Icelandic Gothic book hand. The hand has been identified as the hand who wrote parts of e.g. AM 226 fol.,AM 350 fol. (Skarðsbók), AM 347 fol. (Belgsdalsbók) and AM 73 b fol. (Bæjarbók á Rauðasandi). For an exhaustive list of manuscripts written by this hand, see Drechsler 2021, 52 table 5.
Pen-flourished initials occur in red and dark blue. Rubrics in red.
There are two AM-slips.
Written in Iceland c. 1370 ( Stefán Karlsson 196728 ). Kålund's date: c. 1400 ( KKKat I 564 ).
On fols 2r and 4r a seventeenth century hand wrote: Snæbjörn Steffánsson , and on fol. 11r the name snore asgeirsson appears.
According to the AM-slip concerning fol. 13 the leaf was used as binding material for a book belonging to Hannes Þorleifsson.
Árni Magnússon got the fragments from several places. According to the AM-slips, Árni Magnússon acquired fol. 4 in 1706 from Árni Hannesson, A note in Árni Magnússon's hand on f. 9r reads: i Reyk hollt 1707. Another note in the bottom margin of fol. 10r says: Ur Aust fiordum 1711 . According to Fornmanna sögur IX fol. 7 was bought at an auction in Copenhagen.
