Written in two columns with 39 lines per column, spaces for chapter-headings are left empty. Majuscules occur in varying colours.
Written in an Icelandic Gothic bookhand. According to Stefán Karlsson (Stefán Karlsson 196759) this hand is similar to the second hand in AM 47 fol. (Eirspennill).
In the top margin of f. 2r, Árni Magnússon wrote: Ur Sverris Sǫgu. In the top margin of f. 3r he (erroneously) wrote: Ur Hakonar Sǫgu Gamla.
An AM-slip presumably concerning ff. 2-3 reads: Þesse .2. blǫd hefi eg feinged af Jone Sal. Eggertsſyne, og voru þä utan um Jardabok Jens Sfrenssonar, fogeta ä Islande.
The manuscript was written in Iceland in the first quarter of the fourteenth century ( Widding 196091 and Stefán Karlsson 1967, 59). Kålund's date: the fourteenth century.
Fol 1 belonged to Snorri Jónsson and the bailiff Jens Sørensen (Seffrynsson) used ff. 2-3 as binding for his land registers. Subsequently they belonged to Jón Eggertsson.
On f. 1r below the text Árni Magnússon has written: Fra Sr Snorra Jons syni 1721. The AM-slip, possibly concerning f. 2-3, reads: Þeſſe .2. bld hefi eg feinged af Jone Sal. Eggertsſyne, og voru þä utan um Jardabok Jens Sfrenssonar, fogeta ä Islande.
