The rubrics are very faint. Only faint traces of red majuscules are left.
The outer leaves ff. 1r and especially 2v are considerably worn.
The manuscript is written in Iceland. Kristian Kålund has dated the manuscript to c. 1300. Marianne Kalinke, however, subsequently dated it more precisely to the first half of the fourteenth century.
The only known owner of this part is Árni Magnússon's nephew, Rev. Snorri Jónsson of Helgafell.
On the cover Árni Magnússon wrote that he got the AM 325 III α from Snorri Jónsson in 1721: fra Sr Snorra Jonssyne 1721.
