Kveraskipan

The manuscript consists of 5 gatherings:

  • I: 1
  • II: 2
  • III: 3-10, these leaves are conjugate and has apparently made a complete gathering
  • IV: 11-12 are conjugate and was once the two innermost leaves of a gathering.
  • V: 13-18 are conjugate and was once the 6 innermost leaves of a gathering.

Umbrot

Rubrics in red that now are effaced and partly illegible.

Skreytingar

The majuscules are red or green. On the versos of ff. 5, 13, 15 and 16 the left margin is covered by an ornamentation that is connected with the majuscules.

Spássíugreinar og aðrar viðbætur

Additions from the fourteenth century occur on fol. 5r: „skrifa þu alldre beg clmxs ihabys“.

Additions from the seventeenth century:

  • 2v: „Gudz kuedia“,
  • 3v: „Gudz kuedia sendizt ydur min Godi uin uidr sal + “,
  • 7 v and 9v: „Gud“,
  • 13r and 18v: „Gudz“,
  • 15v: „Gudz nad“,
  • 16v: „hin G“,
  • 17r: „Hakon a halogalande“.

Band

The manuscript is bound in a half binding with spine of parchment and side-coverings of marbled paper.

Written in Iceland c. 1300.

Ferill

The only record of the provenance of the manuscript is the name „Hakon a halogalande“ on fol 17r, written in the seventeenth century.

Aðföng

On the AM-slip Árni Magnússon notes that he has got those fragments: „ur ymsum stodum ä Islande“. A similar note is found on fol 54v in AM 435 a 4to.
