Parchment and paper

The outer leaves of each quire are of parchment, all the others are of paper.

The first and last leaves of the book block have been damaged by damp.

Chapter headings, initials, running titles and chapter numbers are in red.

The manuscript was written in Sweden at the end of the fifteenth century.

The manuscript came early into Danish possession. On the front pastedown there is an owner's note from the sixteenth century: Denne bog hør meg | elsebe brade tel. At the bottom of the same page the name of Sten Brahe has been written. On fol. 124r there is an impression of a seal showing the arms of the Rantzau family.
