Ástand

The fragment is well preserved, although f. 2v is very dark, and in some places the text is almost illegible. Between the two leaves there are probably four leaves missing.

Umbrot

The fragment is written in long lines with 25 lines to f. 1r and 26 lines to 1v-2v. Initials and rubrics in red.

Skrifarar og skrift

The fragment is written in two Icelandic Gothic bookhands

The first hand wrote 1r:1-11, 2r:1-6, and 2v:2-12.

The second hand wrote the rest of the text. This hand is comparable with that of AM 325 4to 3c and AM 325 4to 4a VIII.

Spássíugreinar og aðrar viðbætur

In the margin of f. 1v, there is a note written in a seventeenth-century hand: „sælir komande heilege og biarni.“

Band

The fragment is bound in a grey cardboard cover.

Fylgigögn

On the AM-slip Árni Magnússon says that he got the fragment from the Priest Snorri Jónsson (of Helgafell) in 1721.

Uppruni og ferill

Uppruni

The fragment is written in Iceland. Kristian Kålund dates it to c. 1330, whereas Jón Sigurðsson (AM 394 fol., p. 317r ("18")), Ole Widding Ole Widding 1960, p. 91.) and Stefán Karlsson (Stefán Karlsson 1967, p. 59) date it to the beginning of the thirteenth century.

Aðföng

On the AM-slip Árni Magnússon says that he recieved the fragment in 1721 from the priest Snorri Jónsson (1683-1756), who was a parison of Helgafell 1720-1753.

The MS was set on meeting guards and bound in a grey cardboard cover 09-07-1958 to 02-03-1959 or 09-1961 to 10-1961.
