The manuscript is mainly written in one hand throughout, with the exception of two hands that has written the two last lines of f. 44r, and the seven last lines of f. 48v, respectively. A fourth hand has provided the manuscript with headings.
Names of owners from the seventeenth century are added in the margin.
There are two slips written in Árni Magnússon's hand.
The manuscript is written in Iceland in the second half of the fourteenth century ( Seip 1954 130, 132 ) and Rindal 1981 ).
In his catalogue of Icelandic parchment manuscripts, now catalogued as AM 435 a 4to, Árni Magnússon writes that the codex once belonged to Eggert Jónsson of Akrar: Er komin til min ur Skagafirde. Bökina hefur fyrr ätta Eggert Jonsson ä ỏkrum. Er in folio minori.
Árni Magnússon got the most part of the codex from Skagafjörður. Later he got three leaves having served as envelopes and binding for books, also from Skagafjörður. After 1702 he acquired two other leaves from Skállholt.
