On an AM-slip pasted between the two leaves, Árni Magnússon tells that he got them from Magnús Einarsson in 1719: Þesse .2. blỏd ur Olafs Sỏgu Helga feck eg 1719. fra Magnuse Einarssyne frä Iỏrfa i Haukadal. Enn hann hafde feinged þau af manne, sem nylega hafde flutt sig nordan ur lande þängad i Haukadalenn .
