A part of the printed edition of Grágás with handwritten notes by Vilhjálmur Finsen supplied on added leaves of paper.

This is only one part of Vilhjálmur Finsen's Grágás: Stykker, som findes i det Arnamagnæanske Haandskrift nr. 351 fol., Skálholtsbók og en række andre Haandskrifter.

Collation

There are no quire signatures. There are no catchwords.
Condition

The volume is in a good condition.

Binding

Half-bound in the 19th cent. Boards covered with marbled paper, dark brown leather spine and corners. Pale grey-green paper used for paste-down and flyleaves.

On the rear paste-down there is a blue lable which reads: “CARL KØHN | BOGBINDER | Pilestræde 40”

On the spine there is gilded embossed title "Ord-|register" and six horizontal geometric decorations.

History

Origin
The volume has to be dated to 1883-1892, as Vilhjálmur Finsen's edition of Grágás was published in 1883 while Vilhjálmur Finsen died in 1892 in Copenhagen in Denmark.
Provenance
There is a sginature “VFinsen” on the second front flyleaf.
