Layout

Written in double columns with originally 37 lines per column. Majuscules and rubrics in red.

Script

The script is a Gothic semi-cursive.

Additions

  • The top margin of fol. 1r reads: “Sextus.”
  • In the right hand corner of fol. 1r the much later note reads: “Fra Geheimarchivet”.
  • The top margin of fol. 1v reads: “Liber·”.
  • The top margin of fol. 2r reads: “Octauus”.
  • And a similar on fol. 3r reads: “Octauus”.

History

Origin

Written in Denmark. Kristian Kålund (Katalog vol. II p. 380) dates it to the fifteenth century, whereas Poul Diderichsen (Fragmenter af gammeldanske Haandskrifter p. xxv) dates it more precisely to the second half of the fifteenth century.

Provenance

Fol. 1 is from the accounts of the estate of Assens and Hindsgavl for 1629-30.

Acquisition

Fol. 1 was given to the Arnamagnæan Collection by the National Archives (Rigsarkivet). A note in the top margin of fol. 1r reads: “Fra Geheimarchivet”.
