Written in one hand, in Gothic script.

Decoration

There is a miniature of a seated king, identified as “CAROLUS MAGNUS REX”: King Charles the Great, i.e. Charlemagne, by a later hand on fol. 2r.

There are three- to six-line initials in red ink on fol. 2r, fol. 2v, fol. 6r, fol. 10v, fol. 11r and fol. 27r.

Additions
Notes and ownership marks on the front and back flyleaves (fol. 1v and fol. 36r) as well as on fol. 1r by Jacobus Marande. This hand is also responsible for the rubrics on fol. 2r and fol. 10v in addition to other marginal notes. There are notes by at least one more later hand throughout the manuscript.
