Uppruni

Britain and Iceland c. 1175 and the sixteenth century.The manuscript is a palimpsest; the original text in the outer columns of the rectos and the inner columns of the versos were effaced The earlier text was written in the second half of the twelfth century, the new text dates from the sixteenth century. The last five columns were, however, left blank or only partly filled in by a younger hand.

At the bottom of fol. 116r, after the end of The Psalms, the Icelandic scribe added: Endadur j hruna af gunnlaugi ions | ſyne þann 5. mars 1586.
