Acquisition

On an AM-slip Árni Magnússon informs that he has got the leaf from Iceland. He does not mention a date, but as he refers to Codex Resenianus as an existing codex, he must have got it before the Copenhagen fire in 1728: “Þetta blad ur Olafs Sỏgu Helga, virdest mier heima eiga i þeire bok sem nu stendur in. Bibliotheca Reseniana, pag. Catalogi 259 Num. 27. Skriften er hin sama eda miỏg lik, sem mier synest, og gỏten i kiỏlnum accordera nærre lage. So hefr þä þetta blad ätt heima i þvi 7da kvere bokarinnar, sem nu er heillt burtu, og hefur ein hver fyrir laungu þar skrifad ä bokina: Verdi þeim alldri lid at þvi kveri, sem þeir hafa ur þessari bok stolid. Blad þetta hefi eg feinged i Islande, enn bokin sialf hefur (ad eg hygg) leinge i Danmork vered. Hefur so þetta ark leinge vantad i bokina. I bokina vantar þar fyrir utan 2. blỏd, sitt i hverium stad, og 2. blỏd midt innan i eitt ark”.
