Origin

The manuscript is written in Iceland. Kristian Kålund dated it to the fourteenth century (KKKat) whereas Oscar Albert Johnsen and Jón Helgason later dated it more precisely to c. 1400 (Johnsen & Jón Helgason 1941, p. 959).

Acquisition

On the old cover of the manuscript Árni Magnússon tells that he found the 2 leaves in 1713 in the back of Throndheim's chapter revenues of the Trondheim chapter. The cadastre was written in Trondheim in 1618 and was probably also bound there; later it belonged to Jens Ronsenkrantz, titular Councillor of State, and Árni Magnússon bought it after his death in 1702: “Þesse 2. innlỏgdu blỏd fann eg 1713. innani hryggnum ä einne Iardabok yfir Throndhiems Capitels indkomster giorde 1618. hveria iardabok eg eignast hafde 1702 efter Etats Raad Jens Rosencrantz. enn eckj athugad hana so grant fyrr enn nu. bokinn var innsaumud, og þesse 2 blỏd lỏgd innani pergamented til styrktar vid hryggenn. Bokinn er samantekin i Nidarose, og so (öefad) blỏdin þar innani hana lỏgd”.
