The outer leaves ff. 1r and especially 2v are considerably worn.

Layout

The rubrics are very faint. Only faint traces of red majuscules are left.

History

Origin

The manuscript is written in Iceland. Kristian Kålund has dated the manuscript to c. 1300 whereas Marianne Kalinke has dated the manuscript more precisely to the first half of the fourteenth century.

Provenance

The only known owner is Árni Magnússon's nephew, the Priest Snorri Jónsson of Helgafell.

Acquisition

On the cover Árni Magnússon has noted that he got the AM 325 III α from Snorri Jónsson in 1721: “fra Sr Snorra Jonssyne 1721”.
