Parchment.
The fragment is written in one column with 32-39 per page.
The leaves are considerably blackened and worn; there are some parts of the manuscript where the parchment has become so dark and the writing so indistinct that reading is made difficult or impossible. The last 2-3 lines of f. 3, except from a small part close to the inner margin, are cut out.
The top and bottom margin of fol. 1r contain a seventeenth century authorization for Häldan B S to receive his inheritance from the brother of the issuer S O S.
The fragment is bound in a grey cardboard cover.
The manuscript is written in Iceland in the first half of the fourteenth century (e.g. Kirby 1980s. 94, 20 n. 9). Kålund dating: the fourteenth century ( Katalog I 199 ).
According to a note on f. 1v in Árni Magnússon's hand, he got ff. 1-2 from the lawman Páll Jónsson Vídalín in 1712, ff. 3-4 were found in KB Add. 43 fol (the Royal Danish Library of Copenhagen) and transferred to this manuscript.
