On the front flyleaf a provenance note reads: “foræret af hr. Adjunct Schaldemose til Nykjöb. Skolebibliothek.”

Binding

The boards and spine are covered with blue paper.

On the spine the title is written: “Grænlendinga Saga ok Edvardar Saga hins Helga”

A provenance sticker affixed to the foot of spine reads: “Nykjöbing Cath-Skole Bibliothek”.

History

Origin

Probably written in Iceland in the eighteenth century.

Provenance

The manuscripts Acc. 51-62 belong to the collection of manuscripts Frederik Schaldemose bequeathed to Nykøbing Katedralskole. Most of them are Fredrik Schaldemose's transcriptions of Old Norse texts.

Acquisition

The Arnamagnæan Collection in Copenhagen acquired the manuscript from the school in April 2007 as a gift.
