Written in one column with 23 to 29 lines per page.

Hand 1 wrote fols. 1-91.

Hand 3 wrote fols. 92-106 og 159-166.

Additions

There are several marginalia in Latin, Greek and Icelandic. On fol. 79v the name Þórður Finnsson is written various times. On fol. 158 there are pen trials and various names and notes: Högni Þorbjörnsson, Bergsveinn Grímsson, “Jőn Sigurdsson | est huius libri verus | possessor”, “þetta kuer Til Lanz fra Solheima|tungu Anno 1678 S J S”, “Halldor Arnason med Eigin hendi”.

Binding

The manuscript was originally bound in a parchment leaf of an antiphoner from the fourteenth century from Iceland, now Access 7b, Hs 48. In the spine of the original binding there was a strip of a German newspaper from 1638.

There are two paper slips pasted to the front of the manuscript. On the second slip there is a summary of the manuscript's content.

History

Origin

The manuscript was written in the second half of the seventeenth century in Iceland. Fols 108-158 might have originally been an independent manuscript.
