Condition

There are several lacunae in the manuscript, which consists of 10 gatherings. I: There is a lacunae at the beginning. II: The gathering is complete. III: All the leaves are missing. IV: The 6th and 7th leaf are missing between the ff. 13v and 14r.V: The gathering, which consists of 4 leaves, is intact. VI: Originally the gathering consisted of 6 leaves, now 3 are missing between 27v and 28r. VIII: Originally the gathering consisted of 6 leaves, but now the third one is missing between 32v and 33r. IX: There is a lacunae after 38v. X: There is a lacunae between 39v and 40r.

Script

The first hand occurs on 1r-40v and is a gothic bookhand from the second half of the fourteenth century.

The second hand occurs on 40r, is from the second half of the fourteenth century written is in a gothic cursive.

The third hand occurs on 40v and is a gothic cursive from the second half of the fourteenth century. The scribe is named Halvard Ruffe

The fourth hand occurs on 40v and is a gothic cursive from the second half of the fourteenth century. The scribe is named Martin Nielssön.

Decoration

There are rubircs in red and initials in various colours.

Binding

The manuscript is bound in a grey cardboard binding.

History

Origin

Originally Kristian Kålund dated the manuscript to the second half of the fourteenth century, however a more recent dating is the one by Seip, who in 1955 dated it to the third quarter of the fourteenth century.Norsk språkhistorie til omkring 1370, p. 233, p. 218.

Provenance

According to an AM-slip the manuscript belonged to Gerhard Miltzovfrom Voss.

Acquisition

Árni Magnússon acquired the manuscript in Bergen.
