Foliation

The manuscript is foliated in the top right-hand corners.

Condition

The script on fols 8r-11v is very bleached and worn, but in places it has been touched up with a darker ink.

Layout

There are rubrics and chapter numbers in red. The initials are red, blue or green, and some are flourished with several colours.

Additions

The manuscript contains several marginalia which are written in a younger hand.

Binding

The title (“Sverigs Lovbog”) is printed in gilt on the spine.

Seal

On fol. 97v a red and a black wax seal with the coat of arms of the Rantzau family is found.

History

Origin

The manuscript was written in Sweden c. 1400.

Provenance

The name Sten Brahe occurs on fol. 1v in a sixteenth century hand, and fol. 97v has the coat of arms of the Rantzau family.

The manuscript was lent to Uppsala University Library (Uppsala universitetsbibliotek), Sweden, for use by Per-Axel Wiktorsson from November 1977 to 6 March 1978, and again from 1 August 1980 to 22 September 1981.

The manuscript was lent to Uppsala University Library (Uppsala universitetsbibliotek), Sweden, for use by Gösta Aqvit from 19 April to 3 October 1988.

The manuscript was photographed in November 1977.
