Accompanying Material

There is an AM-slip in Árni Magnússon's hand saying: “Dette Oluf Pedersens histories Exemplar bekom ieg | Anno 1716. fra Mag. Jo-|nas Ramus paa Nórre-|houg paa Ringerige | i Norge, til foræring. | Arffue Scaryn | Suenson propria | stod paa brettet indentil | syntes at vere gammel | haand. Det som fattes ved enden i dette Exemplar. | har til visse været 1. sæt, | og icke meere end 2. sæt. | Det kunde mand see af | traadene som sade til|bage af det eller de | sæt som vare udryckte | og bortrefne.”

History

Origin

Written in Sweden in the second half of the sixteenth century.

Provenance

Nothing much is known about the provenance of this manuscript. According to Árni Magnússon's account on the AM-slip, the book once belonged to an “Arffue Scaryn Suenson” who cannot be identified. Later it belonged to the Norwegian Jonas Ramus (1649-1718).

Acquisition

Árni Magnússon acquired the manuscript from Jonas Ramus in 1716.
