Um frum-parta íslenzkrar túngu í fornöld, LXVII-LXIX
Parchment.
The leaf is reduced to the upper half.
Written in Iceland in the second quarter of the thirteenth century ( Lindblad 1952, p. 92). Kålund's dating: The first half of the thirteenth century, ( Katalog II 58).
Previously the leaf was put inside a cover on which Árni Magnússon wrote: Þetta fragmentum fann eg anno 1725. innani hryggnum ä Iislendsku kvere, er ätt hafde Sr Þordur Jonsson i Hitardal, og epter hann Þorsteinn Þordarson. Kvered var innsaumadad forlage Þorsteins Þordarsonar, þvi innani bandinu voru .2. sendibref til Þorsteins dat. 1673. og 76] anno 1676. eda sidar. feck eg þad af Gudmunde Þorleifssyne ä Eyre, enn hann hafde feinged þad ä Skarde, ad eg þykizt vist vita. In his catalogue (KatalogII58), Kålund, however, doubted that the cover originally belonged to this fragment.
Assuming that the text on the previous cover is concerning this leaf Árni Magnússon got it from Guðmundur Þorleifsson.
