The manuscript is made up of eleven quires + one leaf. Originally the quires were of eight leaves each.
The leaves have suffered some damage due to exposure to damp and moths.
Written in a large script by Thorgerus Haquini (Þorgeir Hákonarson). The same hand also wrote AM 305 fol., AM 56 4to and AM 78 4to (Norges gamle Love IV 473).
Large, flourished initials with the first line of each main section consisting entirely of initials. Flourishing in contrasting colour. See e.g. fols 1r and 12r.
Initials (2-3 linjes) with flourishing in contrasting colour.
Rubrics and colour-stroked initials in red ink.
Occasional younger marginalia:
Laced grey parchment case with traces of brass clasps.
When the manuscript was bound, recycled parchment was used as material for the pastedowns. This parchment contain pen trials from the first half of the sixteenth century, one of them reading Jeg hanss erichsenn hoffuitzmand paa Bahuss (I am Hans Eriksen, manager of Bohus Fortress).
