A proxy from the author's son, sýslumaður Skúli Magnússon to Rasmus Rask to let etatsråd Grímur Thorkelin hand him over the manuscript (1815) and a slip containing a note by Rask: Sýslumadr Skúli Magnúſson á þeſsa bók are attached to the manuscript.

Written in Iceland, 1800. The printing of the book was abandoned due to the death of the author.
Ferill
The author's son, Skúli Magnússon owned the manuscript before he gave it to Rask in 1815.
