Rev. Auðun Benediktsson was the owner of the leaf when it served as a binding for a book, and he gave it to the lögmaður Páll Jónsson Vídalín. Árni Magnússon wrote the following on an AM-slip: Þetta blad feck lgmadurenn P. J. W hia Sira Audunne Benedictsyne utanum qver. Another note by Árni Magnússon on 1r reads: utan af qvere i Saurbæ ä Kialarnese 1703 .
