Historie og herkomst

Proveniens

The manuscript is written in Iceland in the second half of the fourteenth century.

Herkomst

In his catalogue of Icelandic parchment manuscripts, now catalogued as AM 435 a 4to, Árni Magnússon writes that the codex once belonged to Eggert Jónsson of Akrar: „Er komin til min ur Skagafirde. Bökina hefur fyrr ätta Eggert Jonsson ä ỏkrum. Er in folio minori“.

Erhvervelse

Árni Magnússon got the most part of the codex from Skagafjörður. Later he got three leaves having served as envelopes and binding for books, also from Skagafjörður. After 1702 he acquired two other leaves from Skállholt.
