Incomplete copy of Eirspennill (AM 47 fol.)
„Upphaf Sveins konvngs“
Presumably a copy commisioned by Árni Magnússon. Written in a Roman cursive script.
From the beginning of Magnús saga góða a younger hand has added variants from several codices. At the last part (from 1130) dates in Árni Magnússon's hands are found.
The ms is bound in a half-binding with black leather spine and corners; the boards are covered in glossy marbled blue and brown paper from 1911. The sewing on parchment bands is probably original. Size of binding: 327 mm x 220 mm x 39 mm
Kålund noted the date 8. ágúst 1911 on the upper pastedown. The cover is worn.
The binding was originally bound in parchment from an Antiphonary. This was transferred to Access. 7b, Hs 59 f. 2 og Access. 7b, Hs 63, f. 1.
Ff. 123, 136-37, 149, 193 are later pasted in slips; the last one contains a note by Árni Magnússon. At the end of the manuscript a further four loose slips are found; the content of three of them is concerning this ms, the fourth contains an Icelandic satirical verse.
