The inner edge of fol. 131 is damaged.
Written in one column throughout with 26 to 30 lines per page. The running titles (on fols 3r-85r, 87r-97r, 105 r-114r), rubrics and initials are red.
On the fly-leaf (fol. 1) there are several marginalia: a Latin sentence and the year “1540” have been written on fol. 1v. Below that has been written: “Axell wrnes | Bogh” and “Thenne Bog er mig skencket | aff mijn gode venn velbor|dig Axill Wrnhe till Soegardt | Niels Jesperson | S: F: mett egen | handt”. On the pastedown the following has been written: “Liber M: Nicolaj | Casparj Episcopi fio:|nensis.”
The manuscript is bound in dark brown leather. Fragments of an old Latin church manuscript have been used as pastedowns.
There is an accompanying slip written in Árni Magnússon's hand: “R. Eriks Sælandske | loubog. en ligasom | den tryckte, og | saa ligesom den, deelt | i 6. bóger.”.
History
The manuscript was written in Denmark in the second half of the fifteenth century.
The marginalia written on fol. 1v and the pastedown suggest that the manuscript originally belonged to Aksel Urne, and later it came into the possession of Bishop Niels Jespersøn, who was a friend of Aksel Urne.
